Long story short, I wanted to add the Playstation.Blog website's RSS feed to my LJ flist, which meant I ended up browsing some of the other syndicated feeds and noticed icanhasacheezburger.com was syndicated. After two weeks of seemingly dark and depressing spelunking, there's some light at the end of the tunnel. I'm quite bouncy and happy at the moment, because I can finally see the end of this project - it's getting closer, and those two weeks are as hard as this bitch is gonna get. It's all downhill from here.

I suppose the other reason I'm a bit happier is because I finally get to play with some toys I've been given for this project - massive high-res satellite photos and Melways scans - to do some creative aesthetic work, rather than cover-interviews-with-overlay work that has been keeping me so unhappy.

I hope everyone is doing well today. I find myself constantly refreshing my LJ friends page and various forums lately to break up the monotony of this project, but there's only so much updating people can do. Comment this post if you're bored, and not going to post! ;)

But I got a submission posted up on Kotaku for the very first time today, regarding the upcoming firmware release for PS3 and PSPs. It's not much, but it leaves a warm feeling in my stomach! ^_^

Yep, I purchased a Permanent Account. I've been on LJ for many years, and it's one of the only sites that I've constantly browsed since the first time I joined. My friends page is always open, ever refreshed. Amongst some of my friends, I've been tagged the 'king of LJ'. I suppose it's only fitting then, that I have a life-long account.

I'm not quite sure yet what I plan to do with my journal. A paid account unlocks a lot of potential - redirects, email address, the ability to have it as your homepage and website with embedding... so I'm not sure where I'm going to take it. But in the end, it doesn't really matter - I've got as long as I live to decide. There's no rush. :)

I don't expect much to change because of the switch, at least not right now. But eventually. We'll see, eh?

Couple of things. Firstly a mate of mine just sent me this link of a shoot-out between three cops and one teenager, which was amazing to watch.

Secondly JR came up to me today and asked "How would I go about recording a phone conversation?" He explained that his son had to do a phone interview with someone and needed to record it. "Does your phone have a speaker on it? Can you put someone on speaker-phone? You could just hook a mic up to a tape-recorder, or even use your little DV camera to record it." He kind of gaped at me with his mouth open for a few seconds. "You're a genius. You're an absolute genius." And then wandered off back to his office - and I could even hear him in his office saying "He's a genius."

Man. Imagine what his reaction's going to be when I solve a really difficult problem FOR REALS. I'm looking forward to my performance review. :D

The fact that hardly anyone ever updates their LJ during my working day indicates one or all of the following:

1) I do not have enough friends on my flist
2) I do not have enough friends who live in Oceania on my flist
3) I do not have enough friends who live in Oceania and have access to LJ at work/school/where-ever on my flist
4) Everyone on my flist is friggin' slack at updating their LJ.

I'm digitising a video this morning so I've got a bit of time for a general update.

Even though I got more sleep than normal I still feel kind of drowsy and slow this morning. I missed my stop on the tram in to work, and caught another tram one stop back - one stop is a longer walk than you'd think, AND it's uphill. Still I was late, not that anyone minds. I mind. Which is almost worse, since no one can torture you like yourself.

Anyway, how about some GOOD stuff, mm? Here's a story I've been meaning to write up. I also have another one I've been meaning to write up, but by the time I finish this one, my tape will have finished digitising.
