Grindhouse - Astor Theatre - 27th March
Melbourne peeps,

The Astor Theatre is screening 'Grindhouse' as it was intended to be shown, as a double-feature, with intermission and scratched treatment. I'm going to be buying tickets for the 7:30pm session on Thursday, 27th March (next week). If anyone else is interested in coming along with us, let me know and I can arrange tickets (not sure if you're able to book them, but I'm going to buy a bulk lot).

I'm pretty excited about this because I was highly disappointed when I heard they were splitting the films up due to the fact the double-billing wasn't making "enough" profit over in the states. I'm a bit of a purist and I like to see things the way they were intended.

For those who don't know anything about Grindhouse, you can find more information on its IMDB page and a more detailed rundown here. The films themselves (by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino) are schlocky, fun, and have garnered some pretty decent reviews. The trailers during intermission should also be excellent, one done by Rob Zombie (House of 1000 Corpses), another by Edgar Wright (Spaced/Shaun Of The Dead/Hot Fuzz - he's already one of my favourite 'indie' directors) and one by Eli Roth (Cabin Fever).
